Volunteer at an Orphanage in India

There are a large number of poor and orphan children in India who are without homes are given refuge in orphanages and shelter homes being run by various non government organizations throughout India. These are distressed children who come from difficult circumstances that detach them from the joys of childhood. These orphans require love, care, affection warmth and education.Volunteer assistance is very much needed at these Orphanages.

Volunteers assist the children with their education, through taking extracurricular lessons, assisting with homework and helping with general education on life skills such as personal hygiene.

In many of the orphanage placements, volunteers live on site at the orphanage with the children.

The Orphanage Program is available at the following locations– Delhi, Calcutta (Kolkata) , Palampur & Bangalore

Program Requirements and Fees

The minimum age requirement for joining the program is 17 years.Volunteers need to have an open mind and flexible attitude for working in a new and different environment. 

Cost and Start Dates:

Volunteers can choose to start their program on any Monday throughout the year.
We have programs running throughout the year for your convenience.

Note : An Application Fee of only USD 150 / GBP 101 is required at the time of application. This would confirm your spot and would be refunded if we are not able to provide placement in India.

What's Included :-

• Airport Pickup: Volunteers are picked up from the Airport in Delhi or in Bangalore.Those volunteers who will be already in India will be met by the staff at the bus/railway station or at a meeting point decided beforehand.

• Orientation: A half day orientation will be provided by our staff. We cover areas like, culture, greetings, locations, transportation etc.Volunteers are encouraged to join the Orientation Week - Learn Language, History, Culture & Discover India! in Delhi which gives them an opprtunity to explore different sights in Delhi and also learn some basic Hindi.
• Lodging: Volunteer accommodations are provided with a host family.Living is comfortable and all home stays and volunteer houses have electricity and running water. Accommodation is shared with other volunteers.
• Food: Volunteers are served with two/three meals a day in this project..Typical Indian meals include Dal( Lentils),Curry, Rice, Vegetables, Salad, Yoghurt, Roti (Indian Bread).
• In-country support: 24 hours support provided by our local staff. Volunteers have the support and assistance of the local coordinators and staff in case of any Emergency.
• Pre-departure information: After we receive full and final payment all participants are provided by a pre-departure information booklet by e-mail which will have all vital information about your program. The booklet provides information regarding the country , projects , coordinators , Things to pack , Visas and Emergency Contact Information.
